November 28, 2017

The Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Trustee Awards for the months of January, February, and March. Each award cycle the $1,500 grants are available to three local non-profit organizations with a public health focused project in southern Arizona.

The January award was given to the Southern Arizona Research, Science, and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF) and will be used to provide materials and support for students in Title 1 schools to research public health projects. The Educational Outreach Program provides an incredible opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. The services provided by Southern Arizona Research, Science, and Engineering Foundation inspire students’ interest in the medical field, which is vital for the public health of future generations in our community.

Grow 2B Fit Foundation won the February award. The award will be used to provide funding for activity books, food for cooking classes, and take-home supplies for participants to include food scales, measuring cups/spoons, and small sporting goods. Grow 2B Fit Foundation offers the Recipe for a Healthy Family program free of charge to community members. This program provides an incredible opportunity for families to learn about preparing healthy meals, physical activity, and stress reduction. Families in the Tucson community greatly benefit from this education.

The Santa Fe Ranch Foundation is the recipient of the March award. The award will go towards the addition of a shade structure for the Ranch, which will enable them to continue their education in the summer months for individuals who are disabled or have special needs. The unique conservation and animal education provided by The Santa Fe Ranch Foundation will continue to benefit the community of Nogales, AZ.

TOMF congratulates the three Trustee Awards winners and is honored to support such incredible organizations.
