TOMF Awards July, August, and September Trustee Awards
July 20, 2016
The Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation is proud to announce the next three winners of their Trustee Awards. These $1,500 microgrants are awarded monthly to local nonprofit organizations for a project that improves public health in southern Arizona.
The Lupus Foundation of Southern Arizona won the July award. It will be used to help fund the LFSA Support Groups that facilitate discussions that allow the open exchange of information about pain management, stress reduction, coping and life skills associated with this chronic illness.
The August award went to BAG IT and will be used to produce, assemble, and distribute resource bags to cancer patients following their diagnosis. These bags are provided free-of-charge and allow patients and their families cope with their diagnosis, move more competently through the treatment process, empower them to become active members of their treatment team, and transition to follow-up care.
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern Arizona will use the September Trustee Award to fund transportation, accommodation, meals and registration for families traveling to the Survivorship Conference in Phoenix. This conference addresses some of the long-term effects caused by the rigors of treatment not just for the diagnosed child but every member of the family.
TOMF congratulates all three organizations not just for receiving a Trustee Award, but also for the incredible work they do in our community.
